Kelis says she will always wear fur and wants PETA to “leave her alone.”

The singer is well known for her extravagant style and is often pictured in fur coats, which has led to her being targeted by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in the past. Kelis wrote an open letter to the organisation back in January rejecting their demands to stop wearing fur and she still has no plans to change her ways.

“I’ve always worn fur. I’ve never had a issue with it. PETA mentioned a few things, I ignored it. They sent me a nasty letter, I’m like, what, are you serious? Leave me alone basically,” the singer ranted in an interview with gossip blogger Perez Hilton.

The star went on to reveal her love of meat, insisting she has no plans to become a vegetarian in the future.

She also said she believes people should be left to live however they choose.

“I’m like the biggest carnivore; I eat a plate of meat. I don’t need anything else. I enjoy it that much. I believe in live and let live,” she said.

The singer is currently enjoying success with her new album Flesh Tone and has moved on from her tumultuous marriage to rapper Nas.

Kelis insists their divorce wasn’t as bad as the media made out and even revealed the pair sometimes still speak.

The star also spoke of her new romance, but was coy about her new partner’s identity.

“It wasn’t really a bitter divorce, we talk sometimes. I’ve been seeing someone else for a little while, it’s going great. He’s not a musician.”

When asked whether her new partner was famous she smiled and replied cryptically: “I guess it depends who you are.”

The newsmedia consistently misspell the name of this performing artist. It is actually spelt C-A-L-L-O-U-S.

You believe in "live and let live?" Well, you're a hypocrite, then. By wearing and promoting fur, you are taking the lives of hundreds, maybe even thousands of innocent animals. If you stopped wearing fur or stopped eating meat, you would be letting thousands of beautiful animals live. PETA will leave you alone if you agree to leave all those cute lynxes, minks, rabbits, and such animals alone. Did you know that there is video proof that raccoons have the skin and fur cut off their backs while they are still alive and conscious, then thrown in a pile on the ground to die a slow, agonized death? Did you know that rabbits have their paws, tail, and finally head cut off and then their furs pulled off them like sweaters while their hearts are still beating? Learn what it means to "live and let live" before you go promoting such a selfish and hideous atrocity!!!

Kelis is such a disgusting piece of scum. "Live and let live", Kelis? Then why don't you spare the millions of raccoons, minks, foxes, DOGS, and CATS who are hung upside down by wire nooses, slammed on the ground, and ultimately SKINNED ALIVE for fur. Fur is barbaric and anyone who still wears it deserves to face the harsh realities behind it.

Well then maybe she shouldn't parade around in animal carcasses.
