Ken Ring

Ken Ring

Ken Ring watches the moon and the tides. He is a fishing commentator for radio, but after predicting the date of last week’s quake his opinions are being followed by thousands.

He says another will strike on March 20th.

Campbell Live is covering this story because so many viewers emailed and phoned.

We feel it is our job to cover the issue but in no way do we believe it or are we asking you to believe it.

What we do know is being in Christchurch and experiencing the after shocks has left us all vulnerable and on edge.

We have not found a single scientist, geologist or seismologist which believes in Ken Rings theories.

We have though found members of the public who say they joined his site and knew the earthquake last week was coming.

Mihingarangi Forbes talked to three families who are hooked on ring's opinions.

Watch the video.

This is the most Disgraceful interview I have ever watched. John you are an idiot!!! How can you say that Ken scares people when all you and your journalist buddies ever talk about is murders and rapes and terrorists every single day, that is what scares people not a guy that makes valid predictions to try and give people an idea of when an earthquake may hit. You keep going on about how science doesn't back him up and that they say earthquakes can't be predicted, just because they can't predict them doesn't mean they can't be predicted!!! Maybe they are looking in the wrong place! I think it is simple to see that the moon and other planets play a huge part in earthquakes for the simple fact that the moons gravitational pull controls the tides, and when other planets come in to play the forces on the earth are alot greater and it's these forces that are causing the plates to move. It is so painfully obvious I feel sorry for you that you are so single minded.

If people want to believe Ken ring then that is there choice. I thought that we were a tolerant western society. Not a medieval hoard on a witch hunt. People believe in Gods and higher beings, but we cant proove they exist, yet its illegal to discriminate against them. the work has been don "classicly probably over 100 years ago"- Kevin Berryman, can I point out that this is before Technionc plate theory was around. The moon can cause small earthquakes this is known, but earthquakes are triggered by loading of fault lines. So whats to say that a small fault line slip could not transfer energy to make a larger fault slip. After all the September quake was 4 slips combined? Or is that just to obvious a question to ask?

Terrible interview-without giving Ken Ring a chance to explain his theories, John attacks him, right from the word go. Bad, bad journalism. While John said he would allow people to make up their own minds, he attempted to do it for them and put Ken in the realm of crystal ball seers. Terrible interview by John-good on Ken for putting him in his place.

John, you suggest Ken's beliefs are not relevant, because he has no qualifications, and therefore can't know what he is talking about. John, you have the opposite beliefs to Ken, so what are your qualifications to prove you have some real knowledge about the subject? What's good for the Goose, is good for the Gander, don't you think?
