Sir Jerry Mateparae swore in John Key's Government today (file pic: Frank Solomona)

Prime Minister John Key’s new Government has been sworn in by the Governor General at Government House today.

Governor General Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, as the Queen’s representative, reappointed Mr Key as Prime Minister and swore in new ministers to their portfolios and to the executive council.

Mr Key spent the last two weeks forming his second-term Government, officiating confidence and supply agreements with ACT, United Future and the Maori Party.
