Kim Hurring

In the early 80s Kim surprised her Auckland family and friends by taking her first reporting job in Invercargill. It was at 4ZA, where she made lifelong friends, experienced real snow on Christmas Day, and discovered the most beautiful places in New Zealand are just a few hours drive away.

In the intervening 27 years, (having begun work as a six year old), she transferred from radio to television, and hopped up the country working in Dunedin, Wellington and finally Auckland. Reporters are a sick bunch really, because she lists her reporting career highlights as the Springbok Tour, Gloria Kong kidnapping, Aramoana massacre, and the Gisborne Cervical Cancer Inquiry... sad eh?

She likes crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and gardening. She's married with a teenaged daughter, who is her favourite shopping partner.
