Six60 and Kimbra have dominated at the 2012 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, taking home a collective haul of 11 trophies.

Six60 is taking home six awards including single of the year, people’s choice award and best group while Kimbra scored five wins including album of the year and best female solo artist.

Auckland-based Six60 also won Tuis for highest selling NZ single and NZ On Air radio airplay of the year for double platinum single ‘Don’t Forget Your Roots’, which this week celebrates 52 consecutive weeks in the New Zealand Singles Chart.

Hamilton-born, Melbourne-based Kimbra also won breakthrough artist of the year, best pop album and an international achievement award. Her album Vows debuted at number 3 in New Zealand, number 5 in Australia where it has since gone platinum and number 14 on the US Billboard Chart.

NZ On Air Best Music Video: Special Problems – ‘The Sun’ (The Naked and Famous)

Best Maori Album: Ria Hall – Ria Hall
