The small Auckland suburb of Kingsland is about to play a huge role in the Rugby World Cup.
Tomorrow night – and every time there is a full house at Eden Park over the next six weeks – the vast majority of the 60,000 people attending will pass through Kingsland on their way to the park.
This is where a lot of the Rugby World Cup partying – and commiserating – will take place.
Kingslanders are ready to celebrate.
Marking the start of the tournament are the Night Lights at the old Kingsland Post Office. The projection display will run for the duration of the RWC. John Campbell was there to flick the switch.
