A young boy in Tarawa

From the sky, it is a perfect Pacific atoll. From the beach, it is a land of squalor. Overloaded with slums and squatters, Tarawa's people have simple needs.

Tarawa's 50,000 people have no clean water and no sewerage system.

They come from the outer islands for a better life, but there are no jobs, nor money - just problems.

Its rates of domestic abuse and infant death are some of the worst in the world.

With 33 islands barely above sea-level, climate change is Kiribati's fear. However, the real danger is society falling apart first.

The island is at a point of no return. Some of the people must be moved back to the outer islands. But some of these people don't want to go, and the outer islands are not ready for them either.

Watch the video for the full report.

Kiribati island could never be sink neither whatever scientist have predict. The lord God created that beautiful island and place people on to benefit and live on it, no matter how,and what will happen to the country, it can't be happening. It is the lord who will decide whether it will sink or not.It is not from scientific to conclude and judge, because they are not capable of what God is thinking. They are human just like us. God is unpredictable. I tell this that this island will never sink until u die, and will continue from generation to generation until God say " something will happen to it". Never fear the people of Kiribati, for that day will never happen. You are bless for this beautiful island you have. It is wonderful... it full of peace, smiling and hospitality all over the island ...No other place on earth you can find such a lovely country as yours.
