Metallica star Kirk Hammett has become the first band member to publicly speak out about the hunt for missing fan Morgan Harrington.
The band has offered a US$50,000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts after learning the pretty student went missing following a Metallica concert in Virginia on 17 October.
The guitarist tells ExploreMusic.com, "We would like to... see her found and reunited with her family. It's a very sad thing to hear about. We're just trying to do what we can to help her and help her family out.
"It's a pretty intense, screwed up thing that's happened, and I really hope that she's found and that she's OK."
Metallica's reward has been added to the Harrington family's US$100,000 cash incentive for information.
