Kiwi GT Academy contender hits real life race track

A month ago Tony Autridge had never driven on a race track.

But for the past week the Wellingtonian has been tearing it up at Silverstone.

Autridge was New Zealand’s representative at the GT Academy - which aims to turn playstation racers into real life racing car drivers.  

This year 1.8 million wannabe race drivers tried to qualify.

3 News motorsport reporter Shaun Summerfield looks at the GT Academy contenders, who are all vying for top spot.
