The New Zealand Olympic uniform

The design of the New Zealand team uniform for the 2012 Olympics has been leaked ahead of its official release.

The uniform was not supposed to be seen until it was to be revealed at the Prime Minister's Olympic Gala Dinner at 6:30pm tonight.

However a photo appearing to show the uniform being worn by Chef de mission Dave Currie amongst others was briefly online on the website of clothing designer Rodd & Gunn earlier today, Fairfax reports.

NZ Olympic Committee spokeswoman Ashley Abbott says the link to the page was viewed 17 times before being taken down.

I actually think they're really great, a lot better than previous versions. The black and white dress is really pretty, though I don't think it matches the jacket. I think the men's uniform goods great, like the blazer and the grey pants, shirt. The 40s and 50s retro look is very in - I don't know why people hate it so much, it's very classy.
