It has been 22 months since it became illegal to use a cellphone while driving, so you would assume Kiwis would be used to the law.

Just one more motoring rule that Kiwi drivers don'r care about.Got a learners driving on your own thats ok you can get stop by the police given a ticket and sent on your way. With such lack laws no one cares.i have seen police talking on cell phones while driving. Who's going to give them a ticket there mates. When we are doing 50km on dual lanes and a police cars passes you who's going to give them a ticket. The police do it so why not us.yep it's law but not for the police.

My Grandma was killed by a txting driver last year. Of all the driver distractions cellphone use is one that can be eliminated. Using your cellphone while driving is an extremely dangerous thing to do with tragic consequences. My mother and I have started a support/lobby group called TextOff, we have done local surveys and the message just isnt getting through. anyone who wishes to support raising cellphone awareness please email textoff93@gmail.com

If you read the comment's in Herald's latest on the RIGHT HAND RULE CHANGE - It's obvious a lot of you can't drive !!

Those talking on phones while driving seem to all be alone in the car, most cars can carry four or five people.
