It has been 22 months since it became illegal to use a handheld cellphone while driving, so you would assume New Zealanders would be more than use to the law.
But by our research, it seems not.
Campbell Live reporters went to the same busy intersection in central Auckland where they were a year ago. That time we found just six people using their phones. This time the results were more than quadruple that.
It's a scary thought given the volume of traffic expected on our roads over the next six weeks.
