Only a drastic change on a diet can make GREAT drastic changes in health and life!!!
Great to see this down to earth diet approach being adopted by high profile Kiwi's. They influence our society more than they know!
No wonder she is sleeping better. Look at how much caffine she was consuming. It's not what she added to the diet but what she removed. She probably doesn't consume enough fat either.
Re: Rich: cant say I agree with you that we are naturally herbivores, look at our basic genetic make-up, our eyes face forward like most carnivorous predators and we have K9 teeth for tearing flesh. I am not for or against vegans although I personally wouldn't live without meat as I believe its a necessary part of our diet, but on the other hand my sister has been a vegetarian for some years and doesn't appear to have suffered for being so. So I say each to their own and enjoy it well we can cause the way we humans breed there wont be many decades left with the abundance of food we currently enjoy.P.S Raechelle good luck with it all - you look stunning
The funny thing is, a lot of people don't realize that eating vegan IS the technically normal diet for humans. We are biological herbavors, like it or not. I have over 15 nutrition books, some from top universities and every single one mentions the optimun diet would be vegetarian and preferrably vegan. You don't hear this too often in the real world because the dairy and meat councils/industries have large amounts of money to throw their weight around. There is nothing about the human digestive system that is designed by nature to digest meat. Trust me, it took me a while to understand this and change my diet. People look at me at 40 years old and are shocked when I tell them my age...typically thinking I am in my late 20s or 30 at the most.
When i went vegan, I had so much more energy and I gained more strength than ever befor ein my lifting career. Unfortunately most people who get into bodybuilding don't research and read the studies, the research on diet and just assume if other bodybuilders are wating nothing but loads of meat and veggies, that must be the way. Little do most realize how many pro bodybuilders, even natural ones have some serious health issues from all the animal protein and fat they eat. All I know is my weights are up as is my energy, mood etc on a vegan diet.
Great stuff, I have a lot of respect for those who try and live cruelty free lives. Others-not so much.
best diet is vegan with no drugs or smokes no caffeine and and only one glass of red wine if drinking alcohol but me i am just a vegan
@ david maybe us vegans dont want to copy meat eaters (MEAT EATERS COPY CATS)
The food looks great - a vegan diet is known to be great for our health, animals and the planet. I've been vegan over 20 years and raised 4 healthy active beautiful children as vegan. It's a great life style. Good luck Rachelle with your competition!
