When the Prime Minister appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman a couple of years ago, the host described New Zealand as his favourite country he had never visited.

Those who watched the programme last night might have wondered why Letterman repeatedly referred to our country – and a mystery Kiwi in the audience in his opening monologue.
