Today, throughout America, but particularly in New York, people remembered the eleventh of September, 2001.

We wanted to be there, so we asked a remarkable New Zealander to go on our behalf.

Her name is Melanie Burford and she is a photojournalist whose work covering Hurricane Katrina for the Dallas Morning News won the Pulitzer Prize.

Ms Burford attended the New York remembrances for us.

And as the names of the dead were read out, she filmed the people there.

She began at the fire station closest to the Twin Towers and then went to Ground Zero itself.

Watch her coverage as America remembers 9/11, a decade on.
