A New Zealand crop spraying pilot has been killed in a crash on a farm in Western Australia.

The man's Cessna A188B crashed while he was apparently cropdusting the property near Kojonup, about 250km southeast of Perth, yesterday afternoon (NZ time), the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The 38-year-old pilot was living in Manjimup, 201km south of Perth.

Police said he died at the scene.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate.

The bureau's director of aviation safety investigation, Ian Sangston, said a team from Canberra was expected at the site late this morning.

That photo is of a Cessna 152, and although most non pilots think that all Cessna's look like that, in this case they couldn't be more wrong.
