We've known it for a long time, but now it's official - New Zealand makes the best pinot noir in the world.

A $250 bottle of Martinborough Vineyard Reserve 1998 has beaten a $9000 bottle of French burgundy to take number one spot in a list of the World's Top 20.

Twelve judges blind-tasted 20 wines from New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany and the United States.
