A Bluff yachtsman is resting up in Tasmania after surviving 60 days alone at sea with no mast and no radio.

Phillip Zwies's solo journey became a nightmare when he was hit by rough seas in the notorious Southern Ocean.

OMG i was stunned to see phillip on the front page of the southland times yestaday,i was phillips partner of 4 years.i have dreaded hearing on the news or reading in the paper the sumthing had happened to him.Cavel is his pride and joy and he worked very hard to get her,so im not surprised at all the he didnt abandon her.hes done an amazing thing an im proud of him,hes acheived his dream.thts all he eva wanted to do was to solo circumnavigate around the world.well done phillip.
