Kiwi whisky wows judges in San Francisco

Kiwi whisky wows judges

For the first time, a Kiwi whisky has been recognised at the world spirits competition in San Francisco.

The whisky is called Thomson Two Tone because it's aged in two casks.

One cask is a traditional whisky cask made of American white oak, and the other is european oak that previously held New Zealand red wine.

The result? Well it got the judges in San Francisco talking and won Thomson a bronze medal.
