A group of five New Zealanders who were captured by a militia group in Indonesia have been released, reports the New Zealand Herald.
According to Radio New Zealand, the group of 10 were on a climbing expedition and were captured in the province of West Papua by local anti-government militia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told the Herald they believed all the tourists had been released and were safe.
Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully has confirmed the incident occurred but more details have not been made available yet.
