They have to reduce immigrants somehow. As there are more than enough people from Poland and other EU countries living in the UK, others such as New Zealanders are not a priority.

WE have had the same experience as others- 6 months for a visa extension which was supposed to take 3 weeks. Got it sorted through putting pressure on our local MP and getting his advice on what to do. He added our letter of complaint and our details to a list that was presented by MPs to a parliamentary select committe who deal with the Border agancy.I suggest others do the same..It is important that you write letters of complaint and send to the UKBA regulary after the advertised maximum time period has expired. Make sure you have thorough doumentation of every issue you can think of especially if the delay is causing hardship.
