New Zealanders' waistbands are continuing to expand.

According to the latest data, more than half of the nation is considered overweight.

A Roy Morgan survey shows 63 percent of New Zealanders are now considered overweight or obese.

Only 35 percent have a Body Mass Index of an acceptable weight.

Spokeswoman Pip Elliot, says our rising weight is likely to be an indication of changing lifestyles.
