The Vodafone Warriors have a number of players in their ranks who are of Pacific descent. One of those is Tongan-born Konrad Hurrell.

Originally a rugby player, Hurrell  made the switch to the 13-man code last year and immediately impressed for the Warriors U20.

Now in his second year of league, Hurrell has cracked the first grade team to become a regular starter, and credits his family in Tonga for his early success.

It's also Maori Language Week, and to celebrate the close ties the Pacific has with Tangata Whenua, we've put this story together in Te Reo.
