I hit the same problem at Auckland Uni in the first semester. I had recently resigned and I applied near the end of the enrollment period. Unfortunately the faculty of science had also exceeded their student 'quota' so they would not let me enroll. The class size of the paper I wanted to take was at 60% of capacity. I was willing to pay international fees as a kiwi but they couldn't allow this. Maybe next year...

Interesting a day so so back, there was a news article about a student group at one of the University's named the 4.20 club. These wombles conduct an open smoke up of cannabis on the campus each week for some unknown reason. So why are the University's not kicking these time wasting bums out and free up some placements for students who actually want to study and succeed at University.
