The old saying, "don't count your chickens before they hatch," was never more true than at this year's Grammys, with Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber's trophy hauls dwarfed by country rock trio Lady Antebellum.
Their album went to number one in the US and here in New Zealand, however, the group almost left their Grammy-winning single 'Need You Now' off the record.
The band is a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. However they say they're happy for those boundaries to be blurred.
And while it hasn't been officially announced, Lady Antebellum will play another guest slot on American Idol in a fortnight - a competition lead singer Hillary Scott was ironically rejected from twice when she tried out as a contestant.
