A new pop feud has erupted between Lady Gaga and South African rap act Die Antwoord after the trio killed off a double of the pop superstar in its latest video.
A man dressed in Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress is ridiculed, massacred by African rebels and mauled to death by a lion in the promo for ‘Fatty Boom Boom’ - and the ‘Paparazzi’ hitmaker is far from amused.
In a post on her Twitter account on Wednesday, Gaga took aim at the provocative South Africans, writing, "i fink u freaky but you don't have a hit. hundred thousand tickets sold in SA. #thatsmyshit... i guess its not a good idea to tell someone you're a fan. never mind! we get it, you're not a little monster."
Die Antwoord quickly responded on their Twitter account, "lady... even tho u r 'larger' than us... we still cooler than u... plus we don't have prawns in our private...."
The final comment was a reference to a scene in the 'Fatty Boom Boom' video, in which a gynaecologist removes a prawn from the fake Gaga's genitals - presumably a joke about past stories suggesting the US singer is a hermaphrodite.
It is not clear why Die Antwoord took aim at Gaga in the video but bandmate Yo-Landi Vi$$er revealed earlier this year that she had turned down the chance to tour with the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker.
