Ladyhawke has received a nod in the category for International Female Solo Artist (file pic)

New Zealand musician Ladyhawke has been recognised with a nomination in the 2010 Brit Awards.

She has received a nod in the category for International Female Solo Artist. Ladyhawke posted on her Twitter page today, telling fans she is “stoked” about it.

Aussie acts Empire of the Sun and Daniel Merriweather also received nods.

Empire of the Sun has been nominated for International Breakthrough Act and International Album for Walking On A Dream.

Merriweather has also been nominated for International Breakthrough Act, writing “I got a brit nom! Best international breakthrough artist!” on his Twitter.

Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Pixie Lott and Florence & the Machine are all up for three gongs, topping this year’s nominations.

The Brit Awards will be held at Earls Court in London on February 16.
