As the NRL season draws to a close for half the clubs this weekend, it's the last chance for many to impress for the Kiwis' one-off test against the Kangaroos in Townsville in October.

The Roosters haven't had the season they had hoped for and are as close to the wooden spoon as they are to the playoffs.

But while Saturday night's game against the Bulldogs will be the club's last of 2012, there's another game on the minds of the New Zealanders in their ranks - with no Four Nations this year, the single test in Townsville is the final Kiwis test chance before World Cup year.

“It's always good when you go into that environment with the Kiwi boys, mate it would be awesome to get together again and really stick it to the Aussies,” says Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall. “It's something we love doing, we've got a name for not doing that well in the one-off tests, so we'll be looking to improve on it.”

The Roosters' Kiwi contingent did their countrymen at the Tigers no favours by upsetting them at the weekend - which could mean Benji Marshall could miss out on the top eight.

But Marshall is the one who might need to apologise to Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. He'll avoid suspension for a leaping tackle - but won't avoid a little friendly payback at the next Kiwis training.

“I sort of said he owes me a feed, I try to look after him and oh look there wasn't too much in it,” says Waerea-Hargreves.

But before they get to that - or Mad Monday - they'll try give the competition one last shake up, by upsetting the top-of-the-table Bulldogs this weekend.
