The men’s hockey Black Sticks are down but not out after last night's 3-2 defeat to Spain in the final four of the champions trophy.

After leading 2-1 in the second half and showing some promising signs, the New Zealanders were run down by the Spaniards. A chance went begging for captain Dean Couzins.

But the Black Sticks can still make the final if they beat the undefeated Australians tomorrow.
