Telling your parents you're gay must be one of the hardest things to do as a teenager. But imagine if it meant you would lose everything.

Craig may never be able to speak openly with his parents again, because the family belong to the Exclusive Brethren, and the Brethren leaders have excommunicated him.

That story coming up on 60 Minutes.

We lived next to a lady in Levin who had been kicked out because she spoke out against her husband sexually assualting her twin girls.
It was so sad that they didnt put the needs of the children 1st & they all turned there back on her when she was just trying to proctect her children from the father sexually abusing them every night.
He would be drunk almost every day & abuse her also, For there image only, They like to hide what they have going on rather than face up to it & save these children from having messed up lifes.
The woman was terrified of the outside world as she had been brain washed to that point. She had no one & didnt know how to function as a normal person.
This is a Dreadful CULT! & I praise anyone who has the courage to walk away to a better world.
Congrats Craig, All the best for you from now on, Rise above as you are now the star You have freedom which they cant buy from heaven, Rebecca.

I would love to meet Craig, I was a member of the exclusive brethren and know what damage they do to those of us that do not "conform". I am not gay, am in a great relationship with my man, but know what he is going through or has gone through. Please let him know my email if possible, and tell him my name - Lorraine Materman, but he may know my name as Lorraine Prestidge, I was married to Andrew Prestidge from Hawera when we were brethren. I now live in Feilding. Would love to know Craig's last name if poss.....probably know parents! Go for it Craig and enjoy life
