Chinese martial-arts film 14 Blades featuring action star Donnie Yen premiered in Hong Kong on Monday.
The event was also attended by co stars Kate Tsui and pop star turned actor Wu Chun, who is a member of the boy-band Fahrenheit.
Lead actress Vickie Zhao Wei did not attend the gala premiere.
According to the production company, Zhao has backed out of promotional events for the film due to "personal reasons."
Reports suggest that the popular actress is pregnant and waiting to give birth in Singapore, but both Zhao and her management company have yet to confirm this.
Directed by Daniel Lee, 14 Blades is about a secret agent who uncovers a conspiracy and betrays the government in the Ming Dynasty.
14 Blades showcases the dazzle of Yen's martial art skills and grand scenes of an ancient Chinese palace with contemporary aesthetics.
From the success of playing a grand Kung-fu master in Ip Man last year, Donnie Yen has became the most popular action star in Chinese film industry.
Yen's Ip Man sequel Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster is set for release this summer.
14 Blades open in Hong Kong on 11 February 2010.
