Vodafone has once again been ranked as New Zealand's fastest broadband provider, with Telecom coming in second.
Broadband monitoring company Truenet's statistics for May include Maxnet for the first time, which debuts in third, pushing TelstraClear into fourth.
Slingshot moves into fifth place ahead of Xnet, and Snap continues to improve, moving into seventh. Orcon's performance has deteriorated every month, and has dropped from fifth in January to eighth.
But TelstraClear's cable service, only available in certain locations, continues to beat all broadband offerings. It was also ranked the most reliable connection, never falling below 100 percent of its advertised speed.
In May, five of the measured ISPs kept above 95 percent of their advertised speed: TelstraClear cable, Vodafone, Snap, Xnet and Telecom.
Some ISPs, such as Orcon, TelstraClear broadband and Maxnet, were significantly slower in the afternoons than others.
The speed test measures how quickly each ISP downloads a particular webpage.
