Rugby League is set to trial some new innovations in next year's anniversary All Stars match.

A 'double try' rule will allow players to opt for an extra tackle rather than a conversion following a try in an attempt to score four addtional points.

NRL All Stars coach Wayne Bennett thinks the new concept may have some merit.

This innovation is similar to one in US and Canadian football where instead of kicking for a convert(1 point) a club can attempt to run or pass over the goal line for 2 points. If an additional tackle were to be attempted in RL it should not be worth as many points as a normal try.Torred
