New Zealand golfer Danny Lee finished on a positive note at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in California, carding a useful two-under 70 to share 25th place.

The former world No.1 amateur, who began his round on the 10th tee, made the turn at one under and combined three birdies with two bogeys on his back nine for his best finish of 2012.

Lee climbs to 116th in the Fed Ex Cup standings and will take confidence from his week at the iconic US Open venue where he shot his best score on the PGA Tour, a superb nine under par 63 in round one.

Lee finished with rounds of 63, 73, 74 and 70 for a six under par total, 10 shots behind Phil Mickelson, who won by two shots from overnight leader South Korean Charlie Wi with a bogey free, eight-under 64 in the final round.

Former world No.1 Tiger Woods capitulated in the final round when he was in contention. The 14-Major champion, playing alongside Mickelson, had a three over par 75 to finish tied 15th.
