Len Lye was an artistic visionary. The Christchurch-born sculptor and filmmaker died in 1980, leaving behind a legacy of innovation.

It's a life that will be celebrated this week at Auckland’s Maidment Theatre, when a long-awaited opera about his life hits the stage.
