Lily Allen regrets her wasteful spending - she's blown a huge chunk of her US$7.5 million fortune on designer dresses and "stupid things".

The singer shot to fame in 2006 when her debut single, 'Smile', topped the charts in her native Britain, and she's gone on to become one of the UK's most successful singer/songwriters.

She estimates her two albums and non-stop touring have netted her US$7.5 million - but she admits frittering away large sums of cash on pointless luxuries.

Allen tells Britain's Sunday Times Magazine, "I wish I had been more concerned about money over the past years, because I've wasted a lot on clothes and just stupid things. (Boyfriend) Sam (Cooper) says, don't beat yourself up about it, but I wish I hadn't been quite so frivolous...

"I'd really hope I'm never in a position where I'd have to sell pictures of my wedding, but if times get hard... If it meant I'd lose my house otherwise, then I'd have to think about it."
