Singer Lily Allen has been awarded an undisclosed sum of damages after taking legal action against a British newspaper group.
The ‘Smile’ singer filed suit against the Daily Mail's parent company Associated Newspapers in November for publishing unauthorised pictures of her English country home.
Allen, who originally demanded between US$80,000 and $160,000 in damages, was granted an undisclosed sum by the UK High Court on Monday. The star's legal fees will be taken care of as part of the settlement and she'll own the rights to the photos, reports The Guardian.
According to legal papers, the pop star claims she was left with "considerable distress and anxiety" after snaps of the retreat were posted on the Daily Mail's website in September, making her more vulnerable to stalkers and fans.
