Police in Los Angeles have reportedly named Lindsay Lohan and her assistant as suspects in a party theft the host now insists didn't happen.

Sam Magid reported the theft of US$100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses to the LAPD last week, claiming items went missing following a party at his home.

Lohan and her assistant Gavin Doyle were guests at the bash and now police insiders tell TMZ.com that the pair is on their list of suspects - even though Magid now insists nothing was stolen.

The actress' lawyer has reportedly refused a police request to interview Lohan, who is still on probation for the theft of a necklace at a Venice, California jewellery store.

The Mean Girls star's publicist Steve Honig tells WENN, "We are not commenting on this right now."
