Northland's "Lion Man" Craig Busch has dropped his claim for unjustified dismissal from the park he helped make famous.

Mr Busch had complained he had been unfairly dismissed from his job at Zion Wildlife Gardens, near Whangarei, by his mother Patricia Busch.

An Employment Relations Authority (ERA) investigative meeting into his dismissal was due to resume today after it was interrupted in May by the death of Zion Gardens handler Dalu Mncube.

But Mr Busch has since notified the ERA he has withdrawn his personal grievance claim.

The meeting was still due to go ahead today as the park has made a counterclaim, seeking the return of company property and claiming for loss of income and legal costs.

ERA member Yvonne Oldfield last week declined an application from Mr Busch for a stay of proceedings.

l think with the trouble that mrs p busch is having with the park, She should let her son craig return to HIS park, and his lovely animals, we are here in England to help craig get to be with his lovely animals and his park we not here to help mrs busch, she should restate him and leave her son do what he knows best, (Mrs P Busch just a short message: Come on Pat bit ur touge give craig his job back, he can do it without u beening there, why dont u take a world crews and enjoy a life on ur own, ur son will always be there),. Craig is the only person that can run the park with his new girlfriend and members of his new team, So give him a chance, what u going to lose u still be getting ur share of the money, it may take 6mths or 2yrs but in the end the park will be running and u be happy, craig be happy and these lovely animals will also be happy, come on this the only way it would works, u know it and everyone knows it would work ok Gary Smith

The animals definitely need Craig. It is cruel to ban him from the park he make famous. No one is listenening to the thousands of voices that are backing him now. However, he made a bad choice when he left Karen! She is not only a lovely person but a beauty . . . ..!!

This poor guy, my heart goes out to him, he can only have droped the unjustified dismissal if she has better hold by money and lawyers.

He really needs a very good lawyer to sort this out for him with financial back up and completely distance himself from her because it seems she is now trying to empty his pockets of donations we have given him to completely put him to sleep for good. What is she about for God's sake, get a life woman and stop trying to live Craig's life by rubbing him out.

Craig should be back where he belongs with his beloved cats--this man has made monumental successes with these beautiful and endangered cats- when will the world realise that there are only a handfull of extraordinary men who spend their lives batteling --no matter what to trying to save what man has almost driven to extinction!!!
