Liverpool Football Club has issued an apology after it ran highlights of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Manchester United.

The Anfield match package published on the club’s website accidentally included a supporter making an elleged racist gesture during the FA Cup fourth=round win.

"Footage featuring an alleged incident during the match was mistakenly included in the highlights package on the club's website," read a Liverpool statement issued to the BBC. "This was a mistake, it should not have been included and we are sorry it happened. It was removed immediately when it was brought to our attention."

A 58-year-old man from north Wales has been bailed by Merseyside police over the incident.
