Liverpool's four-match winning run has been halted by a 1-1 draw at Wigan after Fernando Torres' third goal in four days was cancelled out by Hugo Rodallega's score.

Torres, who scored twice against Chelsea on Sunday, hit the target in the seventh minute after receiving a 30-yard pass from Steven Gerrard and firing past goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Rodallega leveled in the the 52nd minute Wednesday, and the hosts then finished the Premier League match the stronger of the two teams.

The draw meant Liverpool missed the chance to move into the top five - which seemed a distant prospect a few weeks ago with the team in the relegation zone, until it put together three league wins to add to a victory in Europe.
