Leave these people alone. I know this couple from years ago. I also know Kate had a legitimate back injury and was there when she fell and am also aware of Francis's back injury. The public is so quick to believe what its shown but they forget this is tv aimed at getting an audience. Its all about the ratings yet they forget this is ruining the lives of innocent people. The man in my life has a back injury but life doesn't stop there. You have to continue to live/make a living. Swimming is good for a back injury as is light exercise. Sure this couple have done some things for personal gain throughout their lives but haven't we all?? Vanuinui vin aka Francis and Kate.

ACC are fully aware Francis is in Fiji he comes back for his consultations he is a New Zealander who has paid his fair share of taxes over his life which makes him fully entitled to what he gets, and so what if he lifts a 12kg suitcase if he lies in bed all day his recovery will take longer. Snorkelling and swimming in general is the best thing for an injury like this. How some of you out there can judge this man solely on a story by campbell live is astonishing. There wasn't a shred of evidence in their claims. The man can recover where ever he wants, this is clearly a media beat up there's a real sniff of tall poppy syndrome in a lot these comments. We really do frown upon successful people in this country it's embarrassing. Francis couldn't possibly have earnt his wealth could he.. It must have all come from ACC.. People get real.

I was disgusted when I saw this on Campbell Live. I am a nurse which is physically hard work a lot of the time, and ask any nurse - we all eventually end up with bad backs and other aches and pains. I get nowhere near $1,000 a week in my pay packet, so how does a beneficiary (genuine or not) qualify for this kind of weekly income when those of us who are working our butts off can only dream of it?

Stacy Davis how can you be 100% sure that you are right. Some people are very good actors and I would count the people in Fiji who saw these two getting around a lot better than some of us as reliable honest witnesses. Injuries do improve. Kate Kumar openly stated that her husband shouldn't be doing this and that because she wouldn't want any one from ACC to see him. When you do things honestly and ACC don't help you out as much as they should and I'm talking about now having to pay at least two thirds for new hearing aids when you are on a pension. You can work hard all your life and be honest then you hear stories like this. It just makes the blood boil. Who handles Mr Kumara's case and why wasn't the fact that he spends most of his time in Fiji picked up at boarder control?

what i find disgusting is ACC have been investigating since last year & campbell live have proven he is a scammer, & yet acc obviosuly havent enough evidence? yet people i know have fought acc for years to get what they really deserve, & i myself have had trouble recently. they want me back at work, but only if its economically viable for them.. they dont care about people, only their(acc's) money. we are nothing but an equation of economic viability & bad luck for your injury. then when you dont heal in their expected time frame, you are accused of faking your injury! acc seem to be happy to pay the scammers but dont want to help the genuinly needy! time to abolish acc & allow us our own private medical insurance & a rebate from our acc levys!

R Stacey Davis: I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr Kumar whist completing my MBA at Canterbury university and it does not surprise me that he is ripping off ACC with the way he behaved during the brief time he was on course. And if I recall correctly he had a "back problem" then which was often used as a reason to be absent from classes and gain extensions on assignments. I hope ACC bring them back to New Zealand and make them front up to this disgusting disregard for legitimate ACC claimants.

I suspect like most of the rubbish stories on Campbell that this will be exposed as a beatup with very carefully selected video, interviews etc. The ACC are like robbers dogs and I seriously doubt anyone gets something for nothing these days.
