Queen Elizabeth spent yesterday sitting in Auckland’s harbour – and she was hard to miss.
The luxury cruise liner Queen Elizabeth was docked at Princes Wharf for the day, as part of a world voyage.
The liner was built at an estimated cost of US$630 million, and features more than 700 private balcony cabins, as well as 22 restaurants, bars, and clubs, two swimming pools, and a library containing more than 6000 books.
Guests tired of reading and eating can visit the two-storey ballroom or watch a show at the 800-seat theatre before retiring to their Grand Suite, which offers more space than an average three-bedroom house.
Guests on board the Queen Elizabeth consume around 950 bottles of wine and champagne each day, and more than 2,600 teabags.
From Auckland, the liner will head to Wellington and Dunedin before carrying on to Australia.
