Macleans College students' message to Val Adams

3News NZ

Valerie Adams was once an assistant sports co-ordinator at Macleans College in East Auckland.

She has had a big impact on the school and continued to train in the school gym since her Being win.

Her legacy is a strong shot putting tradition, inspiring students like boxer David Tua's 14-year-old son.

Kaynan Tua and some of Valerie Adam's former students have a message for their hero.

Watch the video for their words.
