Madagascar sequel breaks movie records in Russia

The second sequel to Madagascar has shattered box office records in Russia to become the country's biggest opening-day animated movie hit.
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted opened on Thursday in Russia with an impressive US$3.7 million take.
The movie, which features the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Martin Short, Jessica Chastain and Bryan Cranston, opens throughout the rest of the world, including the US, this weekend.
Madagascar 3 is projected to hit the top of the North American box office this weekend with an estimated US$50 million three-day take.
