Still from Made in Dagenham

Reviewed by Kate Rodger

Made in Dagenham is based on the 1968 true story of the machinists union at the Ford plant in Dagenham, who strike for equal pay for women.

The filmmakers use fictional characters to dramatize the events for big screen audiences, as the women rally against the male-dominated industry they work in.

The audience I watched this with absolutely loved this film and it’s not hard to see why.

While I found it a tad drawn out and too heavily ladled with 60’s cliché, this was an otherwise heartwarming and enjoyable watch.

Three stars.
