Magic making history
Mon, 23 Jul 2012 7:00p.m.
Last night the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic made history as they became the first Kiwi team to win the ANZ Championships.
It is a tough ask - the Magic have of course, tried before, and failed.
And to do it this year they had to travel to Australia, and beat the Melbourne Vixens, in Melbourne. No easy feat.
It was a remarkable turnaround for a team that lost its first four games, and were propping up the bottom of the table near the start of the season.
But this is a remarkable team, made up of some remarkable individuals.
Lachlan Forsyth and cameraman Billy Paine travelled to Australia with the Magic as they prepared for the final, and as they celebrated afterwards.
Watch the video to see their story.
