Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Gisborne early this morning.
Two men, both known to each other, were involved in an altercation near the intersection of Gladstone Rd and Lowe St in the city this morning.
One man was stabbed during the incident and required medical attention.
The other man, understood to be a 36-year-old, has since been arrested.
He was charged with wounding with intent to injure.
The accused will appear in the Gisborne District Court this afternoon.
