Police have made an arrest after a man was murdered at a South Auckland caravan park last month.

The body of Stephen John Knibb was found at the Ramarama Caravan Park on the evening of July 30.

A scene examination of the Ararimu Rd property was conducted yesterday and a man arrested in the early hours of this morning.

The unnamed man will appear in the Pukekohe District Court this afternoon.

Police say they have established Mr Knibb, 66, was at the Country Inn pub - a short distance from the caravan park - on July 27 and are interested in talking to anyone that may have had contact with him on that day.

They are also looking to talk to anyone who saw either a green and silver Mitsubishi Pajero or a maroon/red-coloured Subaru Impreza with spoked mag wheels in the general area on either Friday night or Saturday morning.
