An Auckland man who jumped from a runaway grader has died in hospital.
Mark Vernon lost control of the grader he was operating on Maxted Road, Ramarama, yesterday afternoon.
He jumped from the grader, but hit his head and suffered critical injuries, the New Zealand Herald reports.
Mr Vernon was taken to Middlemore Hospital, where he died overnight, a hospital spokeswoman said.
